“I dreaded having to take Statistics, because math has never been my strong suit. You really made this a great experience, and I want to thank you for all that you have taught me!” – another former student
“Mr. Dienes has an approach to learning that allows his students to grasp the information well and he is certainly geared towards his students’ success.”

“Tim Dienes is a phenomenal professor with a true love and passion for math…When Tim teaches the foundation of Statistics, he does so in a very simple yet relatable way. As he builds your knowledge, he incrementally adds difficulty and complexity while including real life examples. You will feel challenged, but never overwhelmed. I wanted to do well in his class, as ‘A’ students could opt-out of his final. Tim always returned my emails within 24 hours, as he was eager in assisting all of his students in reaching their personal goals for his class. The one time he suggested I visit the school’s tutoring hall, not only did he advise as to why he wanted me to go (I was confusing two different concepts), he told me what to tell them, and offered ways they may want to approach the tutoring session. Proud to say, I did not have to take Tim’s final. As one can see, teachers such as Tim are unforgettable. I have studied at many great institutions and Tim is in my top two, for favorite math instructors. Tim builds your knowledge and confidence to the extent that you believe you can grasp and solve any problem he has prepared you for. After Tim’s Statistical Methods course, I went on to take two additional statistics courses (including that of Environmental Statistics). Because of Tim’s methods, I never required a statistics tutor again and never received a grade less than an A-. What was once just a class needed for a college transfer, ignited a passion, which has left a lasting footprint on my career decisions. Will always remember you, forever grateful, your former student” — A.
